Cowichan Sound & Cellular's history began 12 years ago when the owner, Corinne deLange bought the business. At that time it was a little shop located on the corner of Government and Duncan Street in Duncan. Paging was popular, analog phones were big and heavy as bricks with a very short battery life, and one almost required a mortgage from the bank to afford one.

Starting with the single store, changes came fast and furious under Corinne's care as the mobile telecommunications business rapidly expanded. B.C. Tel became Telus Mobility, and technology improved as the consumer driven market demanded better, smaller, affordable feature packed phones. Old analog phones were replaced by digital phones, new devices entered the market to help customers build their businesses, with data leaping to the forefront in the past years. The cellular phone became the device that provided safety and peace of mind to parents, elderly and anyone who carried one while away from home.

Corinne deLange during the past 10 years has developed the business from two employees to 17 + employees, with 3 locations to serve the Cowichan Valley, as well as an outside mobile sales force serving businesses from Victoria to Campbell River. Her motto was if your business is too busy to come to us, we will come to you. Success can be attributed to Corinne's strong beleif in providing excellent customer service. As a result Cowichan Sound & Cellular is one of the only Telus Mobility Dealers' who host regular free cellular clinics at each of it's locations teaching customers how to best maximize the features and take care of their new cellular phone.
